Once I have that fantastic tome in my hands, I’m hoping beyond hope that I will no longer have to say “rumored changes” and I will finally be able to say without a shadow of a doubt that “according to the DSM-5 WE ARE PERFECTLY NORMAL AND HEALTHY.”

Just to be able to share freely that finally we are accepted by the phych community on college panels so the next generation of kids coming up know that it’s okay to feel the way they feel, to be okay to want to express their desires and passions without worry of reproach, would make every bump in the road completely worth it.

This is my keeping my fingers crossed for those rumors to be true and keeping them even more crossed for those kids coming up behind me that their journey is an easier one. Obviously, life didn’t slow me down in the least, but let’s hope for more kids getting to go the route of their dreams and not HAVING to find work-arounds.

In all of the dashing around which at times is the controlled chaos of my day-to-day life, I feel it’s incredibly important to take a moment to pause and appreciate all the wonderful people and experiences I have been so blessed with.

Yes, by all rights, I most likely should slow down…. what that looks like, I can’t even begin to imagine! On the flip side, I take it as an incredible compliment, that with so many Ladies available these days, my session books are still full day after day, so thank you for your love and loyalty.

The workshops I teach around the SoCal region and beyond have grown substantially, which brings me no end of joy. The Academy got its name for a reason. Anyone can pick up a stick and beat someone, but learning the finer points or WHY and HOW have always inspired me.

On that note, The Academy workshop series is about to kick off. I have an outstanding group of presenters and will be hosting both a pan-sexual and a women’s-only series of classes. Beyond that, I am working on setting up a bootblacking & leather care training series.

Many have asked how many women “work out of” The Academy. The short answer: The Academy is a private and VERY discrete dungeon. We are not a house, we do not have a staff. Anyone visiting The Academy will enjoy a completely private experience. The Academy is rented out to select women and I invite you to enjoy their wealth of skills and knowledge.

On the 19th of June, The Academy will be closed for shooting workshops for Kink Academy. Those who are interested in being my bottoms for Sensory Dep, Advanced Play Piercing, and lessons in how to start and end a scene should contact me. Please note that the filming is for educational purposes and will be a workshop format. This means you MUST have prior experience and be able to show your face.

As much as I was hoping to be able to take “same-day” appointments now that The Academy is up and running, I think we’re all quickly finding out that is simply not happening! my schedule is still getting booked up at least a week in advance! So for those who have been trying to call and squeeze in the day of, my apologies to you. I will keep the open door policy, but I cannot guarantee that it will happen. Perhaps I can assist with scheduling woes by finding a calendar app to show current openings? Hmmmm, something to look into.

In completely other news! Look! I went out! In LA even! It’s a great night called Black Unicorn & I highly recommend it. There are many sexy people and hot play to boot. Next time I’ll be sure to bring my own toy bag, but my deep love and thanks goes out to F/family for the use of their gear and flesh. xoxoxoxo

When these elements are combined it can lead to quite an adventure in the world of word play. It also leads one to ponder of the words used to define oneself. I am often asked to explain how I “identify” myself, and what those words mean, either by clients or the classrooms of students I present to, these thoughts have been on my mind as of late.

Prior to going further, I must confess that I have a deep love affair for the works of Merriam- Webster. When I was quite young, it seemed as though anything I wanted to know the answer to could be found amongst the pages of a dictionary. If the initial answer created more questions, I simply looked up the next word which caused the confusion, to relieve my frustration. So began my love affair with words and their usage.

There is one word, often miss-used and misunderstood in our culture and lifestyle that I would like to take a moment to clarify. Many of you I’m sure familiar with its origins and meaning but for those of you who are not, I invite you to relearn “Mistress”.

Mistress, professional title, has changed radically in meaning over time from its original source of power to now meaning a woman who is scarcely more than a trollop. If Ladies, titling themselves “Mistress” and clients seeking out Mistresses don’t understand or remember the reverence and authority vested in the title of such, there is no point in possessing it and we might as well just be called by name.

I embrace and cherish my title, the history of it and all that it stands for. So in the spirit of DomCon and so many wonderfully strong women coming together to celebrate our careers of passion, skill and power exchange; please take a moment to refresh yourselves of what a Mistress truly is:

In other news, since I know the site you’ve been looking at hasn’t been able to be updated with my current schedule, I wanted to keep you informed of events coming down the pipe.

First: on May 4th, I’ll be teaching a blood lust workshop for the OC Next Gen group. This is a 30 & under group so for those who are looking to attend workshops geared to the younger crowd & meet folks in your own age range this is an excellent opportunity!

Then on May 8th – 12th, I will be attending DomCon LA as one of the Guests of Honor this year. I assure you, this is a year you will not want to miss. If you have not checked out the roll call of Ladies in attendance, you are missing out! Come join us for a year you will not forget!

It feels like we were just ringing in the New Year, enjoying a champagne encrusted Valentines… then BAM! Here’s April! Can someone please tell me what on earth happened to March? In a week it will already be over. Personally, I have a suspicion Father Time is playing magician again, but that’s just me.

Even with a month magically gone, I’ve still managed to be caught up on everything! (*knock on wood*) All the business-side of affairs are taken care of for the big re-opening of The Academy come April 15th (book your appointments now!) and now I’m just working out the final logistics of the move.

Those who have contacted me about cleaning, (or were maids previously at The Academy) send me a note as I will be conducting interviews for my new Dungeon maid the 9th – 14th.

Those who are interested in becoming Academy Benefactors and wish to contribute (in a large or small way) to The Academy are invited to browse through my Items for The Academy wishlist, where you will find an assortment of items I will be acquiring prior to The Academy’s opening.
