During the past couple weeks I’ve been busily catching up with everyone, decorating The Temple, enjoying fantastic NiteFlirt calls and booking sessions. The Temple is looking better than ever and I can hardly wait for the shoot we’re about to have!

Also, keep your eyes open for the “Players and Perverts Grand Opening Party” This will be a Guest List Party ONLY so make sure to RSVP when the announcement goes out!

In other news, I am looking forward to seeing many of you at DomCon! I love attending events like these that give us a chance to have “kinky family reunions” of sorts. So if you see me walking around with my slave, please come up and say hello! This year, I shouldn’t be running around with 100 things to do; though usually those 100 things are delicious and wicked so….. perhaps I should allow my schedule to fill up again!

….bring spring flowers” so the saying goes and as that charming rhyme reminds us, even the depressing moments in life can lead us to new growth that might not have otherwise been possible had we not had the more difficult times before the start our journey.

It will take years for me to get used to a life without my father in it, but the best way to keep him close is to live true to the lessons he taught me and followed in his own life. Thanks to him, I will not take any day, or moment for granted and strive to spend each day I’m on this planet working, loving, growing, laughing, teaching and of course being the devilish sadist you know and love.

My deepest thanks goes out to my personals for their excellent service and my and heart-felt thanks goes out to my amazing friends whose love and unwavering support helped me through my initial mourning; you have truly been invaluable, thank you again. I would also like to give a special shout out to my wonderful pin-cushion from the SSSS event for a great evening of blood and laughter.

I greatly appreciate everyone giving me the time I needed these past couple weeks to take care of myself and I look forward to seeing all of you again very soon now that I’m fully back in the world again. With every ounce of my being I will continuing my father’s dream & live every moment to the absolute fullest. The next month is already setting up to be brilliant with sexy photo shoots for The Temple and DomCon just around the corner!

RIP David Flanigan.

There aren’t words to express how much I’m going to miss you, though I promise your memory will live on. You taught me to live each moment to the fullest and always see the best in everyone…. even if it had to be searched for. 

Thank you for being such an amazing father, for always supporting me, believing in me and for accepting me EXACTLY as I was at any given moment. Life is an evolution and you knew that. I am immensely grateful for our relationship, I know not everyone is so blessed; no matter what bumps we hit, or road I chose to explore, you were always there to lend a supportive word and crack a joke to help me keep going when things got tough.

Please note, I will be offline for the next couple weeks dealing with family affairs only checking voice and email intermittently. Much love to you all, please make sure you let those you’re close to know how much you care.

Why does it seem that sometimes the most important life lessons come -just- after the moment we REALLY needed to know them?

I’m going to tell you a story about a friend of mine and his father. While my friend was growing up he never really “got in trouble” per-se, instead, if he acted out – as kids tend to do and misbehaved and got caught his father would sit him down for a talk. During this talk his father would ask him what he had learned form his experience. Not only the negative repercussions, but the ENTIRE experience; what he enjoyed, what drew him to it, what parts were “too far”, what parts were totally okay, where the line was that crossed over from “okay” to “in trouble”. 

As you might imagine, sometimes these chats could go on for hours but what mattered most was that by the end, they were both content, more aware and knew one another better. Each of them knew “why” things had transpiried as they had and rarely did pattterns repeat themselves. Kids will make mistakes, but to hide their actions from their parents won’t lead to good. This parent made sure that mistakes became opportunities for growth and understanding. I try to continue his example in my life. No one in our lives will ever be perfect; to expect of them is to invite heartbreak and failure into our lives. Growth however, there is ALWAYS room for growth.

This last week I was faced with a situation which tested my resolve on this level. I won’t go into details but in the end I chose to call our session. Prior to doing so we sat down for good long talk to discuss what had happened to get us to that place. At the time of our session coming to an end, my client surprised me by having a beautiful letter prepared. He thanked me for the time and the care I took with him. He thanked me for my skill, my professionalism, my honesty and my integrity. He apologized for parts that took place on his side, which i won’t go into then he thanked me for helping him learn what our world truly was and what a professional session is “supposed” to be.

The care he took in writing that letter to me meant more to me than I possibly have the words to express. Knowing that our conversation got through to him and that no matter where he goes he will be “safe” and won’t be putting his life in danger, puts my mind at ease. I only wish he could have somehow learned these lessons before he came to me…. but now is better than never.

It’s not a perfect ending, but lessons are learned and perhaps in a couple years he’s make it back around my way, wiser and ready for our time together.

The 3rd month of the year already? Where has the time flown? In a scant 26 days I’ll be moving into my beautiful new house here in Orange County before immediately turning around and heading off to San Francisco on the 27th to teach at the one and only International Ms Leather conference then spending the week after seeing SF clients and spending time with friends for my birthday.

This time before the move is turning out to be much more thrilling than I had initially anticipated. I have been blessed to share painting space with some of my incredibly hot play partners who have been so wonderful as to donate their time to my “personalization” house cause…. Hours upon hours we’ve spent laughing, flirting, teasing, letting the innuendos fly and the painting has gone by in a breeze. I feel honored to have such amazing people in my life and as wonderful as my pup is, I must say that they are significantly better conversationalists.

I’m looking forward to having my slaves join me at my home as well. With a new home there are many tasks that I want to accomplish before I move in so once the rooms are painted, I will be able to set my boys to work. Now that I think about it…. there are a couple things they can be doing while I’m busy painting…. seems it’s time to make a few phone calls!

The most important thing is that I LOVE to spend time with my play partners and my slaves…. whether we’re driving somewhere or simply spending a day together; the fact that I adore their company makes any interaction we share simply delightful.

Busy? Yes! Amazing? Oh YES! I utterly adore my life and feel blessed beyond words for all the incredible people I am honored to surround myself with; friends, lovers, partners, slaves, clients and of course F/family!

I would like to extend my thanks to Slave Bren and everyone at Threshold Society for hosting the 2nd class in my Blood Lust series this last Saturday and to all the attendees who came to join me!

It is an honor to present for you and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. It was wonderful to see so many of you returning from the 1st in the series as well as many new faces joining me for the first, but hopefully not last, time.

The Women’s ONLY Gear Party after my workshop was utterly incredible! I cannot express enough how fantastic of a job Mistress Melissa and Slave Bren did hosting the event! Well Done Ladies! The play was outstanding and the wardrobe was ridiculously HOT! Throw in the port and cigar lounge with boot blacking stations and you have yourself a VERY Happy Mistress indeed!

Thank you B/both again! When did you say the next event was?

In other news, I just had the pure delight of sharing a Double Domme session with the one and only Ms. Julie Spanks. If you have not had the pleasure of sharing her company you are truly missing out! We shared an incredible afternoon together and I am quite looking forward to her return so we can enjoy many more future adventures.

Just returned from a crazy weekend down in San Diego with my Leather Family teaching at The Hard Edge. For those who are not aware, The Hard Edge is a space where educators get to push themselves to the max. Normally as presenters we teach 101 or 201 level classes, but in The Hard Edge space we get to present at a 1001 level…. and it really is as intense as it sounds.

Before going in, and all throughout the weekend, we stress that these workshops are NOT intended for beginning level players, we also let attendees know that at NO time will we be offended if they feel the need to walk out of, or take a break during our classes.

Creating our workshops, we discover our limits and boundaries and push our own triggers and buttons so that we can help those in attendance discover theirs and explore the WHY behind their personal buttons.

I was amazingly blessed to be joined by my co-presenter Bryan Teague (American Leatherboy 2010). Over the years I have had the honor of presenting with many talented and incredible folks; Bryan by far is the truest example of these. His humor, wit and intelligence brings a wonderful light and grace to the stage that make it a true delight to join him. It’s rare to have such a cohesive chemistry with someone…. when it happens, each workshop becomes an amazing adventure, filled with fun, excitement and all the things that make our world what it is!

To The Hard Edge Volunteers, Staff, Presenters and Attendees, thank you all for your energy, time and dedication; this event would not be what it is without each of you.

So a thought occurred to me this morning that many of my clients don’t actually know my business hours. They know that when they call me, I either answer, or it gets routed to voicemail and I call them back as soon as I am able.

For those past almost 2 years now my schedule has become packed to the point that although I “say” that I take Sunday’s for myself, and I “say” that I am an 8-hour of sleep a night woman, that doesn’t in fact happen. During the times that I am not physically in session, I am either answering emails, taking client calls, attending conferences, teaching workshops, working on my website, speaking on college panels, doing photoshoots or any of the other day to day behind the scenes tasks that keep my business and kink education world afloat.

It hasn’t donned on me until very recently, that I have allowed myself to get so caught up in all the amazing fun I’ve been having that I failed to notice the “me” time and rest I so dearly need was slipping away little by little.

This doesn’t mean I’ll be cutting back on my play, workshops or event schedule…. quite the contrary in fact! Starting next week, Sunday will be available for booking sessions, so let the Religious fantasies overflow-ith!

What I will be cutting back on are my available phone hours, so instead of 10:30 – 8:00pm you will now be able to reach me for appointments from 1:00pm – 7:00pm. This will hopefully enable me to separate from my phone and laptop a bit more and make it more possible for me to spend more quality time signed into Nite Flirt for scheduled distance training.

This year thus far has been a brilliant year of purification and enlightenment. In the mere three weeks of the New Year I have been amazed again and again with how beautifully this year has chosen to resolve issues, redefine stale relationships, simplify clutter and in short CLENSE my life in a variety of wonderful ways.

Brilliantly enough, I’m finding this to be true for many others around me as well. Perhaps 2011 was a year of “staging”…. that tedious time, (much like setting up rows and rows of dominoes with great precision) now  however, we find ourselves primed to tap that single starting piece and finally see all of our work pay off in beautiful arching cascades around us.

2012 is a beautiful year thus far and I hope it is for all of you as well. I know many of us were beaten down by the economy and job crashes, but it seems as though through those crashes we found a strength within ourselves to become greater and stronger without the structures that we had been leaning on for so many years. So now as things begin to stabilize again, we grow even stronger still both internally and externally, this time though with wisdom to invest wiser and cherish our happiness for the treasure it truly is and appreciate all the gifts, whether extravagant or free, that life has to offer.

That internal strength is precisely how this post ties into kink. It’s when we are strong enough to be ourselves and truly embrace and love ourselves… all of our fetishes and kinks included is when we truly are free to enjoy and love life. When we allow ourselves to step free from guilt and shame we truly breathe for the first time. With that freedom and self-love, it doesn’t matter what else happens in life, we will always have happines, joy, passion and amazing kinky times!

So this 2012 I hope your year is cleansed of all the negativity that pulls your down. Make this year a wonderful year for you.
